How Kristina Developed the Sacral Chakra Blend

For the sacral chakra—our center of sensuality, creativity, and emotional flow—I wanted to create a tea that honors both the physical body (especially the pelvic and reproductive regions) and the energetic body (freedom, vitality, and joy).

Since orange is the color associated with this chakra, I was immediately drawn to calendula. Ruled by the Sun, calendula is quite literally sunlight in plant form, its golden-orange petals reaching upward to drink in the light. It felt like the perfect starting point.

At first, I experimented with grounding herbs like burdock and reishi to give the tea a more tonic-like quality... but let’s just say that version did not pass the taste test (calendula + mushroom = no thank you!). So I pivoted.

I brought in raspberry leaf and hibiscus to introduce tartness, sweetness, and an herbal astringency that felt bright and alive. Raspberry leaf also has a long-standing reputation for supporting the uterus and easing menstrual discomfort.

To round it out, I added shatavari root, an Ayurvedic herb traditionally used to nourish the female reproductive system, and red clover blossom to support lymphatic flow and internal movement.

The result is a vibrant, floral-tart blend that invites openness, expression, and ease. It’s a tea to sip when you want to reconnect with your creative spark—or simply feel more at home in your body.
